luvol

Federico Vullo – Luvol – born in 1991, is a photo stencil artist who carves and creates his matrices by hand, matrices that often stem from his own photographic shots. Luvol, a self-taught artist, became passionate about stencil art by observing the techniques of internationally renowned artists, after which his passion for stencils led him to prefer a very intuitive type of carving. The main theme of Luvol’s works has always been the authenticity of children, often portrayed while playing. The images of innocence, spontaneity and lightheartedness characterize the work of this artist, who actually usually works in contexts that are anything but carefree; Luvol’s works are, in fact, created above all in Middle Eastern contexts such as Syria and Palestine, where he often goes, also with the aim of taking participation into humanitarian missions.

about

THE MIDDLE EASTERN CONTEXT

In Luvol’s art, as in his life, the experience and activism in the Levantine Middle East mowed down by wars, sanctions and international interests, is central. In this devastating context, Luvol focuses his attention and that of his audience on people, especially children, in an attempt to once again give priority and dignity to human beings.
